21st November 2003 Other: Dahab, blue hole Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered: Todays snorkeling trip involed a jeep ride up the coast to the "Blue Hole" The jeep ride was different to say the least as there was 18 of us makeing he trip there was 3 jeeps and with most egyption drivers being wannabe Michael Schmachers it turned into a bit of arace on what could only be described as camel tracks ! we all got there in one piece. The blue hole is a very deep hole very right next to the shore (we didn't go to the bottme with snorkels but could see the bubbles coming up from divers down in the depths) We got into the water a little way up the coast and drifted alone with the current was a bit erie at first cos the water was so deep and thinking what could be down just out of sight in the deep water. It was brillinant just drifting along next to a sheer wall of coral the colours and the fish were fantastic took some pictures but I know they will never look as good as the real thing. |
